Outpatient counseling is most likely the service most people think of when they think of a community mental health center. We have caring professionals who provide these services on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. Other services offered to our clients include groups, case management, and community support.

OUTPATIENT counseling
There are occasions when crisis services are provided at the agency's office, but it is most likely that these services will be required at other locations. The agency keeps an on-call schedule for crisis coverage, 24-7, 365 days a year. Counselors covering a crisis meet the standards of a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as determined by the Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health and documented in Medicaid Rule 132.

Dr. Philip Woerner is a board certified Psychiatrist, providing mental health psych services to our clients. He helps prescribe psychotropic medication to assist in overall treatment. Dr. Woerner has partnered with SCMHA, and has over 60 years of experience.

PSYCHIATRIC Counseling
Relapse Prevention Group is held weekly and provides opportunities for additional support to those with a Substance Use Disorder. Our group has been beneficial for numerous individuals and is recommended for clients receiving Substance Use Disorder outpatient treatment.
In addition, our Wellness Recovery Action Program is a ten-week program offered twice a year.
